Fire Competitions Ltd trading as FireComps operate skill-based competitions which results in the allocation of prizes in accordance with these Terms and Conditions, on our website www.firecomps.co.uk the ‘Website’ and via Social Media Channels.
In these Terms and Conditions unless the context otherwise requires: -
“Closing Point” - means the time and date that a particular Competition closes for the sale of entries.
“Competition” - means a skill-based competition for a specific Prize or Prizes with a maximum number of entries as stated on the Website. Each Competition will also have a limited number of Entries per Entrant.
“Competition Draw” - means the selection of the Winner using Google random number generator.
“Competition Question” - means the question which each Entrant must use his or her skill or knowledge to answer correctly to obtain an opportunity to win the Prize.
“Draw Date” - means the date advertised for the draw at the Opening Point or any such date that the Promoter decides, for whatever reason, that this date should be varied to but only within seven days before or after the original advertised date.
“Entrant” - means any person who enters the Competition through the Website or a Social Media Channel.
“Entry” - The correct answer must be submitted for each Competition Question, along with any fee due for the respective Competition. Payment must be made in pounds sterling (also known as GBP or £) and can be made either by the Entrant or on behalf of the Entrant.
“Entry Fee” - means the price of each entry as advertised for each individual Competition.
“Final Entry List” - means the list of entrants into a particular Competition immediately prior to the Competition Draw.
“Opening Point” - means the time and date that a particular Competition opens for the sale of Entries.
“Prize” - means the item described on the Website for each Competition or in some cases a cash option may be offered as an alternative.
“Promoter” - means Fire Competitions Ltd 18 Newport Street, Tiverton Devon EX16 6NL. Company Number 13169111
“Social Media Channels” - means Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, and any other channel used by the Promoter.
“Website” - means the website found at the address: www.firecomps.co.uk
“Winner” - means the Entrant chosen at random after the Closing Point who will receive the Prize in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
The Competition is operated by the Promoter.
The Promoter may operate multiple competitions at any one time, each Competition will have one or more specific Prize or Prizes.
Each Competition will close once the maximum number of entries has been reached for the respective Competition, this will become the Closing Point, and the draw will take place on the Draw Date.
At the sole discretion of the Promoter, the Prize may still be awarded if the number of paid entries at the time of the Closing Point of a particular Competition does not reach the maximum number of Entries but is considered by the Promoter to be sufficient.
Full details of the draw date/time will be confirmed once the Competition reached the Closing Point, via our website. This decision will be made within 24 hours of the Closing Point.
Final Entry Lists will be displayed on our Website prior to any live draw, you will receive an email link to the list unless the Competition closes near the draw time, if so, no email will be sent but the entry list will still be uploaded.
Draw numbers can be found in ‘My Entries’ in your account, and via the original order email. These will be the same as displayed on the Final Entry List on the Website.
There will only be one Winner per Competition unless otherwise stated.
If the Prize is a motor Vehicle, the Promoter will transfer the ownership of the Prize to the Winner of the Competition using the DVLA V5 for each vehicle. This must be completed before the vehicle is handed over. The Winner is responsible for taxing and insuring the vehicle as required, and the Promoter will have no responsibility over the Prize once it has been handed over. All vehicles will be supplied with a current MOT if relevant.
The promoter accepts no responsibility and is not liable for compensation if you are unable to or do not take up the prize.
The winning Entrant will be selected at random using the Google Random Number Generator live on Facebook.
The Promoters, their immediate family, professional advisers, or anyone else connected with the development or operation of the Website, the Social Media Channels, or conducts administration of the Competition in any way, are specifically excluded from entering a Competition run by the Promotors.
The Competition is open for entry to all other persons resident in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland aged 18 or over. Proof of age may be required to collect a prize.
To enter a Competition Entrants will be asked to provide their contact details which will include but not limited to: Their postal and e-mail addresses, a current telephone number. Card payment details will also be required to pay the Entry Fee. Once the Entry is submitted, the Entrant’s card payment will be electronically approved. If a card payment is refused, then the Entry will be void.
Contact details are required to notify the Winner when they have won a Prize and to confirm that they live in the United Kingdom or Northern Ireland which is a requirement of entry eligibility.
All Entrants are individually responsible for providing and maintaining the Promoter with accurate contact details.
We will never contact you to ask you for your personal of financial information. If you are contacted in any way by someone purporting to be from or to represent Fire Competition Ltd or FireComps, you should immediately refuse to give them any of your personal or financial information, save for your name and the town in which you live in the case of a phone call telling you that you are the Winner.
The Promoter will be in no way liable for any failure or inability to contact an Entrant due to any errors or inaccuracies in the contact details provided by the Entrant.
Maximum Entries allowed vary depending on each individual Competition, each Competition will state the maximum number of Entries permitted for any individual.
When the Maximum Number of Entries and/or the Closing Point is reached, the Competition will close.
All Entries to the Competition are final and no refunds shall be made at any time or for any reason, except in the case of entries submitted after the Closing Point or if the Promoter cancels the competition.
The Promoter’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into about the result of the Competition following the determination of the Winner as described above.
Each Entry will require the Competition Question to be answered correctly. In answering the Competition Question, the Entrant recognises that they must exercise skill, knowledge, and judgement to give the correct answer.
The Entry Fee will be charged whether the correct answer has been given or not when entering the Competition via the Website or Social Media Channel. All entries with incorrect correct answers will not move forward into the random number draw. The correct answer will be made available prior to the Winner being announced.
By entering the Competition, all Entrants acknowledge that their payment for each entry to answer the Competition Question and thereby enter the Competition does not guarantee in any way that they will win the Prize.
By entering the Competition via the Website, Entrants are deemed to have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions and agrees to be bound by them.
FireComps have the right to vary entry costs to Competitions at any time to offer an early bird price or to encourage sales as a Competition nears the closing date.
Closing the Competition
If the Number of Entries to the Competition does not meet the maximum number of entries at the closing date, the draw will still go ahead regardless, and the Prize will be offered to the Winner.
If the Winner cannot be contacted by the Promoter within 14 days of being notified of their status as the Winner by e-mail, telephone or social media via the contact details submitted along with their entry, then the Promoter reserves the right to then select an alternate Winner, who will then have 7 days to accept the prize following the same routes of contact as the original Winner. The original Winner will have no claim to the prize after the alternate Winner is selected.
You may enter any of our Competitions without a charge by post. To do this you must send a postcard via Royal Mail. The postcard must not be in an envelope and it must be stamped with a first class stamp.
On the postcard you must state which Competition you would like to take part in, the answer to the Competition Question for that Competition along with your full name and address, your date of birth, your valid email address, and a current telephone number where you may be contacted. You can only make one entry per postcard if a bulk entry is received it will be counted as one entry.
Your details and correct answer to the Competition must be clearly visible and unambiguous on the postcard for your Entry to be valid.
Postcard with multiple entries written on them will not be valid.

All postal entries must be received before the Closing Point of the Competition. The Promotor will not acknowledge receipt of postal entries nor confirm if the answer to the Competition entry is correct.
Any entries that fail to meet these Terms and Conditions, as with any entry that fails to meet these Terms and Conditions will be void and will not be entered into the Competition.
All postcard or postal Entrants as with all other Entrants, MUST have an active account on our Website at the time the postcard or postal entry or entries are processed, and all details on a postcard MUST match the name and address on the account to which they are to be added.
If we believe a person is attempting to enter using multiple names and addresses all Entries associated with that person as they would be via the paid entry route. Postal entries are limited to one per household.
The Promoter owns any Prize offered from the time the Competition is live until the successful handover is completed.
Any Prize awarded by the Promotor will carry with it any unexpired manufacturers guarantee. The Promotor does not guarantee in any way any product that is given as a Prize in any of their Competitions.
When a Prize is new it will have with it, any unexpired manufacturer’s guarantee. This means that it will have the full manufacturers guarantee less the time between the Promotors purchase of the Prize and the date that the Prize is handed over.
When a Prize is not new or is previously used it will have with it, any unexpired manufacturer’s guarantee (if any).
The Promotor will describe the condition of the Prize as accurately as they reasonably can but accepts no liability whatsoever and offers no guarantee whatsoever for the condition or value of the Prize. The Entrant must make up their own decision through their own enquiries and or legal advice before entering the Competition should the wish to do so.
Should an Entrant consider the condition of a Prize to be below their reasonable expectations, then a cash alternative of 50% of the actual purchase price of the Prize will be offered.
Unless delivery is specifically offered by the Promotor or agreed between the Promotor and the Winner, collection of the Prize from the Promoter’s address is the responsibility of the Winner,
The winner will be required to provide proof of identity and proof of entry into the competition at the time that the prize is collected.
Any cash prize will be transferred to the Winners nominated bank account. The Winner must provide evidence that it is the sole or joint account holder. Failure to do so may result in disqualification from the competition.
All Entrants must ensure that they are doing so lawfully. The Promoter will not be liable in any way if an Entrant enters the Competition unlawfully.
The Entrants and the Promoter recognise that the Competition, its administration, and all associated activities are governed by English Law and the Promoter and Entrants recognise that the County or High Courts of England shall have exclusive jurisdiction in the event of any dispute arising out of the Competition or its administration.
The Promoter reserves the right to refuse or disqualify any entrant if it has reasonable grounds for believing that an entrant has contravened any of these Terms and Conditions or acted in a way that is reasonably considered by the Promoter to be illegal.
Rewards – We may offer a rewards points system to reward customer loyalty and referrals. Customers deemed to be abusing this scheme will have Entries cancelled and will be banned from the Website.
Customers using multiple accounts to enter Competitions more times than stated or referring each other to gain loyalty points will be banned from the Website.
Regardless of the number of Entries sold the Prize the Entrant has entered for will be offered.
The Winner may be asked to have Photographs and or video taken for promotional purposes, both directly after their win. Unless they specifically opt out in writing, by accepting the Prize the Winner is agreeing to such use of these images and is granting the Promoter permission to use them in any future promotional material.
By entering a Competition, Entrants authorise the Promotor to publish their name and town as given by the Entrant in their contact details in the Final Entry List and to display the Final Entry List on the Promotors Website.
During live draws via Social Media Channels, Entrants’ names may be displayed whether they have won a prize or not. If you wish to have your name censored from live draws please email email@example.com at least 48 hours before the draw takes place.
The Promoter reserves the right to cancel the Competition at any time either before or after tickets have been sold. If the Competition is cancelled, the Promoter will return any Entry Fees paid to each Entrant either singularly or cumulatively. Where the Entry Fee is returned, the Promoter shall have no further liability to the Entrant.
The Promoter will not be liable for any economic loss or any other loss including death or personal injury suffered to or sustained by any person or property resulting from any act or omission of the Promoters, nor will their servants or their agents in developing, planning, and administrating the Competition, distributing the Prize to the Winner, or following the distribution of the Prize. The Promoter accepts no liability for errors or omissions contained within the Prize details, description or specification or any other part of the Website or Social Media Channels. It is the responsibility of each Winner and or Entrant to satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of any such details and any content of this website and Social Media Channels.
The Promoter will not be liable for any loss suffered by an Entrant because of incomplete entries or failed computer communications or for any loss suffered resulting from the use of the Website or Social Media Channels.
The Competitions are in no way endorsed, sponsored, or run by Facebook, by entering you agree that Facebook has no liability or is not responsible for the Competitions.
The Promoter does not accept responsibility for entries which are not received by the Promoter due to failures in computer systems, low internet speeds, high Internet traffic, hardware failure, software failure, server faults, other malfunctions, or any other reason.
These Terms and Conditions shall not create or be construed as creating any form of contract, joint venture or other agreement between any Entrant and the Promoters.
An entry shall be declared void and no refund will be given should an Entrant engage in: (a) fraudulent misrepresentation (b) fraudulent concealment (c) any form of apparent or actual fraud (d) interference with or hacking of the proper functioning of the website.
All Entries will become the property of the Promoter on receipt and will not be returned.
Each Entrant agrees that the usual requirement under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 for any goods and services ordered online to be supplied within 30 days will not apply to the Promotors Prize Competitions.
The Promoter reserves the right to amend these terms and conditions at any time. Any changes will be immediately published on the Website.
By entering a Competition Entrants recognise and agree that the Promoter may use their contact details and other data including personal data as defined by the Data Protection Act 1998 and supplied by the Entrants to the Promoter to conduct the Competition according to these Terms and Conditions and to administer the Website.
By entering a Competition Entrants also recognise and agree that the Promoter may disclose such information to relevant third parties for the purposes of the prevention of fraud, money laundering, legal or other financial or regulatory reasons should they be required by law to do so.
